Criminal Law

Criminal law is one of the principal fields in which our office practises. Our lawyers take part in the criminal process by securing the right to defence and the freedom to seek justice for all parties involved. A suspect, in person or through counsel, has the right to object to investigation measures. If the prosecutor concludes that an offence has been committed, an indictment is issued and a criminal case is opened. The defendant has the right to the assistance of a lawyer at every stage of the trial.

Offences by Foreigners and Turkish Jurisdiction

The Turkish Criminal Code (TCK Art. 12-13) sets out the conditions under which foreigners may be tried in Turkey for offences committed abroad. We have particular experience in cases with a foreign element, advising foreign suspects and defendants and representing them throughout the proceedings in English and German.
